As the joyful caretaker and custodian of the Grace School, i hear all kinds of praise for the practices and efforts of the community. The one comment i hear most is this: “At Grace I feel I’ve come home.”
There is no more beautiful and sincere and thoughtful place to study the art of yoga than at Grace. On the walls hangs the gallery of Gurus: those souls who have worn the path for the rest of us to follow. At Grace, we are held in the great womb of the Mother and supported by the lineage of my guru, Sri Dharma Mittra. And we have an amazing supporting faculty.
Both the 200- and 300-hour programs are registered with Yoga Alliance.
My guru taught me how to be a yogi, and I am committed to honoring him by living a respectable life and teaching others how to do the same. A yoga teacher is a yogi first. As Dharma says, Yoga teachers get the students they deserve, and yoga students get the teachers they deserve. If you are wanting to deepen your spiritual practice, just join! The experience will change your life.

A completed application, with two letters of reference.
All tuition paid by date of first session. Tuition: $2850, due by start date.
Teaching yoga is the highest of all endeavors (Bhagavad Gita). A yoga teacher training program has the potential to shift your consciousness. Please understand the depth of this commitment to the Grace program. You must attend each and every session as outlined above. You must be prepared to examine your long-held belief systems. There is a lot of classroom work, home work in between sessions, and practice teaching. There is a lot of writing. This is a deep immersion for your body, mind, and spirit. Before any of us can teach others, we must deeply investigate our own lives. We must first learn how to live the life of a yogi.
300-Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training; Yoga Alliance RegisteredThe advanced teacher training-immersion is a one-year program to certify students and teachers who have already completed a 200-hour program. This second stream is the fulfillment of the school’s endeavor, which is to train human beings in the art of being a yogi – rather than simply ‘doing yoga’. This program continues with the classical practices and moves deeper into the wisdom and lore from the classical tradition. Together, a 200- and 300-hour program complete a 500-hour certification.
In addition to two intensive weeks, trainees will attend five weekend sessions at Grace throughout the year. Program modules include the theory and practice of Yin Yoga; a weekend with Chip Hartranft, studying the rise of Buddhism in India; and workshops in anatomy and physiology, the Upanishads, and Yoga Nidra. Most of all, however, the program is about individual practice and apprehension of the yoga. Students will receive the yoga relative to their unique composition and devotion.
In all its programs, the Grace School excels at depth-teaching. Our community is composed of people who can really sit and breathe and receive layers and layers of wisdom. People who train at Grace want to walk in the world with clarity and truth. Our emphasis is on the philosophical foundations of yoga and an ability to quiet the mind.
The $5000 tuition includes room and board at the ashram.
Prerequisites: 200-hour certification and a burning desire to develop the Self to serve humanity.
